At War Party Movement, the ethos is about having "less thunder in the mouth and more lightning in the hand" and are taking action in breaking cycles of abuse and fundamentally changing the way women are treated, across the country and particularly in Native communities, through our 501(c)3 non-profit, War Party Ranch.

War Party Ranch provides opportunities for women + girls to create working and life skills that foster independence and self-reliance in all aspects of their lives. WAR Party is building a community for these women focused in horsemanship, agriculture, hunting, firearms skills, self-defense, and health + wellness. Through education, sponsorship, and direct intervention we are continuously working to further this goal. As a for-profit organization, War Party Movement raises funds through the sale of products and merchandise to donate back to War Party Ranch. Funds go directly towards expenses for running the ranch, feed and care for our horses, putting on skills training clinics, providing services for women in our program, and sponsorships of War Party Ranch cowgirls, athletes, and partners.

The sale of War Party Movement/War Party Ranch merchandise additionally helps to raise awareness for the cause -

  • In episode #178, we had the honor of hosting an illuminating conversation with Jeremiah Wilber and Micah Wosocki, two dedicated individuals from War Party Movement and War Party Ranch. They shared their powerful insights and heart-wrenching stories about their fight against domestic violence, human trafficking, and the astounding efforts they are making to empower and support vulnerable women. Here’s a detailed recount of the stirring discussion.

Introducing War Party Movement and War Party Ranch The conversation began with an introduction to Jeremiah Wilber and Micah Wosocki. Jeremiah, a retired Special Forces veteran, and Mikah, a dedicated horsewoman and domestic violence survivor, have channeled their life experiences and passion into two incredible non-profits: War Party Movement and War Party Ranch. Both organizations are devoted to combating domestic violence and human trafficking while empowering women through practical and emotional support.

The Shocking Reality of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking During the podcast, the statistics shared were nothing short of alarming: one in three women will experience domestic violence or human trafficking in their lifetime. This grim reality underscores the importance of the work being done by War Party Movement and War Party Ranch. Through their efforts, they are not just raising awareness but taking decisive action to eradicate these issues.

War Party Movement: A Ground-Level Approach War Party Movement focuses on the immediate and practical side of rescue operations for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Their team includes former special operations members who use their skills to track and target human trafficking networks. One of their significant achievements includes partnering with Traverse Project, utilizing advanced technology for tracking and providing ground Intel, which is making tremendous strides in rescuing victims.

War Party Ranch: Empowerment Through Healing and Purpose War Party Ranch, on the other hand, provides the essential aftercare and empowerment programs. Through horsemanship, hunting, and self-defense training, they help women reclaim their confidence and learn new skills. The ranch serves as a sanctuary where survivors can rebuild their lives, find purpose, and connect with nature and themselves. ### The Healing Power of Horses A significant part of the conversation revolved around the therapeutic and empowering influence of horses. For Micah and many women at War Party Ranch, interacting with horses has been a transformative experience. Horses are incredibly intelligent and sensitive creatures that can sense emotions, and this interaction provides a unique form of therapy that helps women build trust and confidence.

The Personal Stories: Heart-Wrenching Yet Inspiring Mikah shared her deeply personal journey of overcoming an abusive relationship and her battles with severe health issues. Her story is a profound testament to resilience and finding purpose through adversity. By sharing her experiences, she hopes to inspire and support other women facing similar struggles. Her involvement with War Party Ranch allows her to give back and help others heal.

War Party Weekend: Engaging the Community We also learned about the upcoming event, War Party Weekend, set to take place on October 11th, 12th, and 13th at the Elbert County Fairgrounds in Kiowa, Colorado. This weekend will feature: - A Women’s Ranch Bronc Riding School - A Women's Ranch Bronc Invitational - Top Hand Cowgirl competition - Open Ranch Rodeo with various events These events are not just competitions but platforms to raise awareness and funds for their causes. They offer scholarships and opportunities for women, including those from native communities, to step into roles of empowerment.

The Importance of Community Support Throughout the conversation, the emphasis on community support and involvement was clear. War Party Movement and War Party Ranch thrive on the contributions and support of individuals and communities passionate about making a difference. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every bit helps in their mission.

Conclusion Jeremiah Wilber and Mikah Wysocki remind us that addressing domestic violence and human trafficking isn’t just about rescue; it's about providing sustained support and empowerment.
